She dearly loved her family and enjoyed bird watching and flower gardens.
Alena was preceded in death by her husband, Ayers in 1980; sons, Keith and Wesley Hughes; daughters, Peggy Wilhelm, Karen Hughes and Charlene Hughes.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Hughes of Evansville; daughter, Margena Hughes of Newburgh; grandchildren, Chuck Barton, Shelly Williams, Scott Barton, Jessica Mosbey, Cari Johns, Steve Wilhelm, Jana Welt, Terrie Miller; many great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Dillon, Terry Dillon; sister, Betty Beavin all of Evansville; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 25, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
