Bobbie Rae Burns, 75, of Boonville, IN passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh. He was born in Evansville, IN on November 5, 1942 to Raymond and Urma Burns.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a life member of Pleasant Chapel General Baptist Church in Evansville. Bobbie retired from Whirlpool after 41 years. He became an ordained minister in 1985 and served in several surrounding churches, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and his fruit trees, strawberries, blackberries, and vegetable garden.
Bobbie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edith of Boonville; daughter, Jennifer Lee Burns of Boonville; son, Kenneth Robert Burns (Lori) of Mt. Vernon, IN; grandchildren, Leigha, Nathan, Kelsey, Alex; great-grandchildren, twin boys, Paxton and Jenson; sister, Sharon Elaine; brothers, Gilbert and Claude.
Memorial Services will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Robert Baggett, Jr. Friends may visit 12:00 PM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Chapel General Baptist Church, 1305 W. Florida Street, Evansville, IN 47710.
