Bobbie graduated from Huntsville High School in Huntsville TN on May 11, 1950 at the age of 21. Her family moved around a lot during those early years as her dad sharpened all those very large saw blades used to slice whole trees ultimately into lumber which prolonged her schooling. After graduation she moved back to Madisonville KY where her parents were at the time. In the Fall she was hired by General Electric on November 8, 1950. Bobbie took after her mom after marriage and buying a home by having a vegetable garden. Bobbie’s mom always had two gardens - one to feed the family at the moment and the other to can from for the winter months. Canning green beans, apples, peaches, tomatoes, making jelly was a usual task during the summer months. Bobbie started crafting early 1980’s with plastic canvas and yarn and continued up til shortly before her death. When she retired from GE in 1990, she had more time for crafting and really picked up the pace of creating ornaments, tissue box holders and other wonderful creations for family and friends. In 2006, following her stroke, it was the art of plastic canvas that greatly aided in her recovery - gaining strength and use of her right hand again.
