Carolyn Joan Hawkins

Carolyn Joan Hawkins, age 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She was born in Evansville, IN on November 4, 1944 to the late Clarence Parker Oakley and Leila Ruth (Hester) Winstead.

Her faith and love for Jesus was known by anyone who met her. Carolyn regularly attended Bible Center Cathedral and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She retired from Deaconess Hospital after 25 years of service.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Linda J. Reising (Jeff) of Newburgh and Elizabeth A. Thomas (John) of Spokane, WA; son, David B. Hawkins (Diane) of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jesse and Chase Reising of Newburgh, John David Thomas of Albuquerque NM and Matthew Thomas of Portland OR and Claire and Andrew Hawkins of Newburgh; and siblings, Peggy Ball (Jim) and Marylyn Oakley.

Preceded in death is her husband of 50 years, David F. Hawkins; and siblings, Gerald Oakley, Lois Bartlett and Dale Oakley.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with the final resting place next to her husband at Springdale Cemetery, Sebree KY following the service.
