

Carolyn and Roy attended First Christian Church and Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh. Carolyn was a substitute teacher at J.H. Castle and other Evansville area schools. Her passion was antiques and art. She enjoyed teaching children’s art classes in her home and area locations. She participated in local art shows and displayed many of her works at the Ohio Township Public Library in Newburgh. She loved taking classes at Michael’s Crafts and Gifts. She had a huge heart and was always thinking of others. Her love was children. Roy retired from Whirlpool. During his career of over 30 years, he held various engineering and management positions and received several patents. He enjoyed going to the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 and St. Mary’s Heart Rehab. He loved playing poker with his friends and grandkids. Carolyn and Roy were loving parents who adored their grandchildren and had a passion for their neighbors.
They are survived by daughter, Susan McDonald of Cincinnati, OH; son, Tom McDonald (Michelle) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Kristin Ungetheim (Brandon) of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Kaelyn, Alyssa, and Jason McDonald, Nate and Chase Ungetheim; extended family in Tennessee, California, South Carolina, and the greater Evansville area.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Odis Clark and Rev. David Rinehart with private burial. Friends may visit Friday, 3:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
