

Clarence Edward Amos, 81, of Newburgh, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway. He was born May 26, 1935, in Central City, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Gladys (Reagan) Amos.
Clarence retired from Whirlpool after over 44 years where he was a member of Local 808. He was a member of Townsend Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Amos.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna M. (Dukes) Amos of Newburgh; daughter, Hilda Downen (Larry) of Evansville; two grandchildren, James Nash (Monique) and Amy Sitzman (Scott) and four great grandchildren all of Evansville; brother, Jerry Amos (Sherrill) of Beaver Dam, KY; sisters, Patty Denny (Earl) of Bowling Green, KY, Brenda Amos of Central City, KY, Joan McClellan of Powderly, KY, Barbara Revlett (Eddie ) of Bremen, KY, and Saundra Cornett (Danny) of Greenville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Rd 261, officiated by Pastor Mike Ward, with entombment in Park Lawn. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Townsend Bible Church.
