Darlas D. Carpenter

Darlas retired from Visiting Nurse Plus after 8 1/2 years of service. She found joy in singing and cherished the moments spent with her family. Darlas was a devoted member of Life Tabernacle Church.

Darlas was preceded in death by her son, James "Alan"; siblings; Jim, Jearldine "Jerri", Alberta "Berta", Harold, Lavada "VadaAnn", RL, and Shirley.

She is survived by her spouse; Carl D. Carpenter; children, Jerome "Jerry" (Melissa), David "Shawn" (Christina); grandchildren, Misty Heilmann (Curtis), Carla Carpenter, Megan Carpenter (Jacob), Lauren Montero (Moises), Kaila Vaught (Alex), Hannah Klem (Seth) and great-grandchildren; Madison, Zakary Baker, KayLeigh Schlageter, Chloe Martin, Luke Martin, and Baby Montero.

A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Eddie Carroll, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Richland, IN. Family and friends may visit 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026 and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
