

Edith attended Burkhardt Elementary School, and graduated from Central High School in 1962.
She was employed with and retired from Paragon Promotions, where she worked as a sales associate in the gift department. She attended Faith General Baptist Church. Her hobbies included bingo, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, board games, and puzzles, as well as gardening and canning. She especially enjoyed remembering birthdays and phone numbers and loved hosting card parties.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Burns; sisters Marlett Hurt and Bertha "Boodie" Hurt; brother, Willard “Bubby” Norton, and beloved dog, Dolly.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Wilson of Chandler; son. Kenneth R. Burns (Lori) of Mt. Vernon, IN; grandsons, Nathan and Alexander; granddaughters, Kelsey and Leigha; great grandchildren, Paxton, Jensen and Kasen; and brothers, Henry Norton and Roy “Skeeter” Norton.
A Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2025 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Ray Yonts, with burial in Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown. Family and friends may visit Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Due to allergies the family request that no Lillies be sent, instead donations may be made to the family to cover expenses.
