Nécrologie de Elisabeth Jane Campbell
Elisabeth Jane Campbell, age 87, of Newburgh, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 28, 2018. She was born on July 23, 1931, to George and Margie Brader in Madison, Wisconsin. Elisabeth grew up the second of two children. At age 11, she accepted Jesus as her Savior, was baptized, and later indicated her willingness to be a missionary. After graduating from Wisconsin High School in 1949, Elisabeth started working at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. The following year she became a full time student at Moody and majored in Christian Education. During Elisabeth’s senior year she met Donald Campbell, and following graduation they married on October 3, 1953. Elisabeth always had a passion for missions and was always engaged in Christian work wherever she and her husband were ministering. Highlights of various activities include: working for Moody Bible Institute, three years at International Teams in Illinois, ten years as a missionary and librarian at Alaska Bible College, and eleven years at His Bible and Book House in Brighton, MI. Elisabeth cherished her family. Throughout her life she nurtured her relationship with her children and grandchildren. She desired to see each of them in a close relationship with Jesus and wanted them to have the same assurance she had of eternal life. She always loved, prayed for and encouraged them. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but we know that we will be reunited with her if, like her, we have received God’s great gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald E. Campbell, a daughter, Mary (Tom) Beekman; a daughter Amy (Mike) Morgan; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Devon) Beekman, Elisa Beekman Cantrell, Isaiah Beekman, Nathan Beekman, Joshua Beekman, James Morgan, Beth Morgan, Laura Morgan; one great-grandchild, Gabriel Cantrell; and brother, George Brader. Elisabeth’s family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff of Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate and loving care. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Visitation for friends will be 4-7 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship 1900 E. Morgan Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711.
