Gary R. Scott

Gary R. Scott, 72, of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1941, in Evansville, to the late Byron J. and Dorothy Bell (Acra) Scott.

His love for life was enormous; he was a lover and a giver. His greatest love was God, as well as his love for witnessing and sharing his testimony. He loved his family and friends and his greatest desire is for them to one day be with him in heaven. He was a very active member of Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed ocean fishing with his son, Gary Wayne. He was a great artist and enjoyed painting with his daughter, Vickie. He was a self-employed trim Carpenter for many years and was very detailed with his work.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Scott; and sister, Sharon Scott.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Hirsch; son, Gary W. Scott; brothers, Michael and Steven Scott; sister, Karen Sue Anders; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. William Gaddis, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
