Helen Ann Bridgewater

Helen Ann Bridgewater, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Deaconess VNA Hospice Center. She was born October 1, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Henry and Clara (Hull) Handick.

Helen was a member of the Hatfield United Methodist Church. She loved to sing, crochet, camp, and had been a 4-H Leader for many years. She loved bartering at garage sales. Helen worked at Walmart Optical and St. Mary’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gayle Edward Bridgewater, Jr.; daughter, Patty Bridgewater; and grandson, Jason Bridgewater.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Barb Bridgewater Young of Chandler; sons, Dale Bridgewater (Carolyn) of Kent, Washington and Paul Bridgewater (Susan) of Evansville; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Witty of Terre Haute, Mary Perucca of Chicago, Clara Bell Wright of Terre Haute, and Joann Hoff (John) of Terre Haute.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00-Noon, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Cotton, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
