Irene B. Day

Irene B. Day, 99, of Newburgh, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Warrick County on September 23, 1911 to Jasper and Blanche Rostron Bullock.

Irene worked for the war-effort during World War II. She lived in Florida for 44 years and was a homemaker and life-long member of the Nazarene Church and was a member of Eastview Nazarene Church. Throughout her life, she was active in church activities, crafts, gardening, and was a giving friend to many people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartley E. Day, after 44 years of marriage; sister, Esther Davis; and brothers, Clinton and Laurel Bullock.

Irene is survived by nieces, Bettye Schneider Luttrull of Newburgh; Bonnie Mathis of Pilot Point, TX; Bettye Stone (Henry) of Evansville; and several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jack Arney, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, IN. Friends may visit Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Church or Eastview Nazarene Church.
