

He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1963. He retired from Lewis Bakeries (Bunny Bread) as general sales manager in April 2013. Jim was a very talented wood worker and made many pieces of furniture for family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and loved to host cookouts. He cooked at the Rodney Lincoln and Easter Seals golf outings, which he enjoyed. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor, was always smiling and never met a stranger. He loved his family with all his heart, was loved dearly by them and will be sorely missed
Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Napier (Bobby), Jane Hagan (Donnie) and Doris Sweeney (Danny).
He leaves behind to cherish his love and memory his wife and soulmate of 59 years, Patricia “Pat” (Graff) Beaven; son, James “Rob” Beaven; daughter, Kimberly Lauer (Keith); his grandchildren who he adored, Ashley Brazier (Ryan), LeeAnn “Peanut” Thorn (Hunter), Cody Beaven and Hannah Brinkmeyer (Lucas); great grandchildren, Brianna, Adam, Alyssa, Presley, Jaxon and Tatum; sister, Brenda Payne (Danny); brother, Tommy Beaven; his baby girl, Daisy Mae, who he dearly loved; nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Cypress Grove Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their caring and kindness.
A Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2025 officiated by Fr. Daniel Dillard, with final resting place in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
