He was a US Marine Sergeant from 1967-1971, serving in Vietnam. Phil had a 37-year career as a firefighter/EMT in Frankfort, IN and was a past Clinton County Commissioner. He was a member of Community Christian Church in Frankfort, IN. During his high school years, he was nicknamed “Tuffy” which carried on through his life. He was a collector of arrowheads, rocks, and fire trucks.
Phil is survived by his wife of 20 years, Deborah “Debi” (Alvey) Michael; son, Jeremy (Jennifer) Michael; daughter, Krista Michael; step-children, David, Dewayne and Dena; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Joy Woodruff, and brother, David Michael.
Services will be May 10, 2025, 10:00 a.m. EST, at Community Christian Church 1944 S. Jackson St. Frankfort, IN, with Pastor Steve Woods officiating. Burial to follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
