

He taught at the University of Southern Indiana as an Adjunct in the Psychology Dept. for six years and taught several Capstone Liba classes. He retired from Branchville Prison as Dept. Head of Medical, where he counseled alcoholics and special needs clients, and represented Branchville as an Indiana Hostage Negotiator. He also taught Indiana Hostage Negotiation classes. He formerly taught at Ivy Tech and at Henderson Community College during the summers.
Bob attended Mt. Carmel, IL High, graduated with an AS from Wabash Valley College, graduated from UE with a BA, an MA in Secondary Education and a Masters in Secondary Education and Master’s in Community Psychology. He and his wife of 38 years, Kathy, were graduate assistants and dorm directors of Moore Hall, UE, from 1975-1978 and during the summers they directed the Summer Conference.
His love of paleontology led him to volunteer on “digs” with Ron Richards of the Indiana State Museum, digging Mastodons. He was the first male President of the Board of Albion Fellows Bacon Center in the 1980’s when the new shelter land was secured.
Bob was also an organ donor, served in the National Guard for two terms, was a member of Methodist Temple, a fellow in the National Forensic Society of Forensic Examiners, a member of Psi Chi, and the American Psychotherapy Association.
Robert was the son of Madison Skinner and Mildred Risley Skinner, both deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his four-footed friends, Annie Lynn, Albie, Jack, Patches and Marvin; and many cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Garry Lanham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to USI Liberal Arts Dept., Warrick Humane Society, Albion Fellows Bacon Center, Castle High Psychology Scholarship, or Teen Power/Youth Resources.
