Ruth Ada (Michael) Martyn, 68, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. She was born in Evansville, IN to the late Overton and Kathleen (Vines) Michael, and graduated from Bosse High School.
She eventually moved to Olympia, WA where she was a financial officer for the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals for the state of Washington before retiring to Newburgh. She enjoyed movies, musicals, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, sister, and aunt and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 36 years, Allen Martyn; goddaughter, Christine Leopold of Washington; sister, Marabeth Gordon of Newburgh; brother, Danny (Earlene) Stoneberger of Evansville; nieces, Donna Farmer, Desi Gordon, Tracy Lamkin and Kathy Martin of Portland, OR; nephews, Danny, Jr., David and Eric Stoneberger.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
