Steve enjoyed spending time with family, taking a drive, camping, and working around the house. He just retired from USI after 30 + years. He attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne and Dolphes Phelps and Frank Baker.
Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Katherine; daughters, Kaitlin Harpenau (Matt) and Lauren Baker (Liam Mathew); grandchildren, Harrison Harpenau and Halle Mathew; sisters. Pam Dunville (Donald), Carol Hudson (Kenny), Julie Phelps; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 Hwy. 261, Newburgh, officiated by Pastor Garry Lanham followed by burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday, January 2, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to7:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
