Veleria A. Hobgood

Nana, as she was known, loved and was loved by all she met. She became Nana to everyone she met. “Blessed are the peacemakers” – Nana was a peacemaker.

Veleria was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis Attwood; her husband of 60 years, James L. Hobgood, M.D.; and, grandson, Sean Tilley.

She is survived by daughters; Lee Ann (Daryl) Nations and Rebecca A. (James) Tilley; grandchildren, Drew (Brooke) Tilley, Sara (Mike) Foster, Michelle (Christian) Crenshaw, Josh Nations and James Nations; great-grandchildren, Jase and Emma Tilley; and her companion dogs, Coco and Kali.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Park Lawn Cemetery officiated by Rev. Patrick Garcia. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
