Bill attended Assumption Grade School where he was selected by the first Bishop of the Diocese of Evansville, Bishop Joseph Grimmelsmann, to be his page. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended Purdue University and studied Mechanical Engineering. Bill was first hired by International Steel and then went on to work for Alcoa for 27 years, retiring in 1993 as a Design Group Supervisor.

Bill was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church before moving to Newburgh where he joined St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in 1975. He volunteered many hours for the church he loved including as President of St. Vincent DePaul, serving the school children food in the cafeteria, being an usher at church and help clean Mother Theresa’s.
Family and Faith were important to Bill. When he was not volunteering, he enjoyed the family vacations to St. George Island to celebrate their anniversaries. He loved boating, playing tennis, a good round of golf (where he was a past member at Rolling Hills), woodworking and spending time in his plant beds where he demonstrated masterful gardening skills caring for his nearly seventy-two roses. Bill was a great lover of music, and while he was in the Navy, he and his friends started an acapella quartet, The Four Bills, in which he sang lead. Bill and Paula also loved attending the Evansville Philharmonic.
