Mr. Glenn Coleman McKenzie

Glenn Coleman McKenzie (77) passed away at home on Monday, June 22, 2020. He was born in Rome, Georgia, to the late Darryl and Martha McKenzie. Glenn was a member of the US NAVY and finished his service in Norfolk, Virginia where he would start a family with his loving wife, Connye. He would also later retire from the New PortNews Shipyard in 2016. Glenn was a highly inquisitive gentleman who was fascinated by the workings of different things and was always one to lend a hand when it came to repairs. He also was one to mentor and aid his colleagues at the shipyard. Everyone who needed a hand or a toolcould always count on Glenn to be there and guide them no matter the task. Glenn is predeceased by his parents, Darryl and Martha McKenzie; and his wife, Connye McKenzie. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Alyson Bethel; his two grandchildren, Cristopher McKenzie and Jacie Bethel; his brother, James McKenzie; and hissister, Jane Jameson. Glenn will be remembered in a graveside service on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 3pm within the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk.
