David could always make me laugh without trying.  As a child, I remember aspiring to have a sense of humor like his.  Thank you Ginny, for keeping us connected through decades of Christmas cards.  God bless all.

David will truly be missed!  I served with him on the First Christian Church’s communion preparation team.  I could always count on David setting up communion every Sunday, even until his departure on earth!  I will think about you as I prepare communion on Sundays now and feel truly blessed as you have now passed the torch on!   Rest in Heaven!

I met David and Ginny Priestman 8 years ago at First Christian Church of Chicago (FCC).  The Priestmans are a very loving couple who embraces everyone.  They have opened up their home many times over the years to host social gatherings and have shown great hospitality.  David will surely be missed at the keyboard.  David and I have recently worked together on the communion preparation team.  He kept serving until he was no longer able to.  I playfully referred to David as “My personal elder” even after he was no longer an elder.  I believe he enjoyed that.  My husband Chris and I will never forget our beautiful wedding cake the Priestmans supplied for us.  

I love David and will miss him.  Praying for God’s presence of love and peace to surround Ginny, Justin and the rest of the family.

I always remember when David & I were involved in some landscaping on the grounds at FCC - "Flower Power." I asked him  if he submitted his receipts for reimbursement or for a record of his donation. He said no, he was just beautifying his own yard at the church.  :)
I sure did enjoy the music he shared, and admire his dedication to the church and to his lovely wife and family.  Hang in there Ginny! Love to you all. Shona Hillman

To Ginny and Family:

I thank God for the privilege of knowing David.  He was always gracious and welcoming when he opened his home to us for our annual (Terra Nova Films) company outings.  I know you will miss him, but he left a strong legacy of love and positivity to his family, friends, and community - and that IS a victorious life.  Most importantly, however, we know that he is at peace now, and in the very presence of the Lord.

Wishing the entire family the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you.


We will always cherish David in our memory and in our hearts.  One particular memory we will never forget is when he brought his love of all things Harry Potter to our 2018 RDS annual meeting.  He used his creativity and sense of humor to cast a spell and transformed all of us into his magical world.

I am so sorry for your loss.  David was a wonderful man and a faithful servant.  He will be greatly missed.  I love all of the photos you posted.  They make me smile.  They are a great blend showing his love for his family and his great sense of humor.  Those of us who grew up with him at First Christian have many good memories of times with David especially in the youth group.  I'm so glad he found you, Ginny, and am so happy for all the great memories you made together and especially for your beautiful family.  May your memories keep you smiling and give you hope until the day we all meet again on Heaven's shore.
