

Beloved husband of the late Merle W. Burns; survived by three children, daughter Robin Burns, daughter Karen (Matthew) Klein, son Michael Burns; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Thomas Klein; two brothers Patrick (Donna) Burns and Lawrence (Barbara) Burns; and many nieces and nephews.
Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1962. He worked at Marshall Fields & Company for 40+ years as a furniture delivery truck driver. He was a member of the Daniel Dowling Council, Knights of Columbus and a proud Eagle Scout Dad. Don was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and it brought him joy to see the Cubs win a World Series in his lifetime.
In consideration of the safety of our guests and associates, Blake-Lamb Funeral Home will adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Illinois, which allow 10 or fewer guests at the visitation. We will allow a rotation of guests allowing everyone to come and pay their respects. Proper social distancing must be practiced and all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL. Please call the funeral home at 708-636-1193 and to reserve a time to come an pay your respects. A private family funeral will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
