Friends of George Witous!

Please make sure you watch the video tribute to George which the family prepared. They really captured his spirit "forever young"--even with white hair and ninety years! Loved the Sinatra quote at the beginning! George was a person who made other people happy. His really was a life well lived. He was a man of a lot of loves. He loved Notre Dame, he loved God, he loved Catholicism. He loved the White Sox. He loved Chicago. He loved the USA! He even loved his clients! Most of all on earth, he loved his wife and family, and was loyal to them with a joy and naturalness that was contagious. We will all miss him very much. I pray to God that we can somehow keep alive his example and Spirit in ourselves for a world that really needs it. Another "Fighting Irishman" breaks through the goal line with a magnificent run and a touchdown!

I was blessed to know George!  He would kid me about being a Yankees fan and I would kid him about his beloved White Sox.   He loved to read.  He once recommended a book called, I Believe in Love.   I did not like the title.  He insisted that it was one of the best books that he ever read.  I bought it.  George was right.  And George’s life was an example of believing in love.  Heaven is now a little louder, which is good, since I plan to ask George for some favors.  

Oh dear friend...how we will miss your laugh, your guidance, your wisdom, and your shining example of all that is good and righteous in this world... and your love of God! Here's to Saturday morning breakfasts, Long Beach excursions, dinner at Club Lucky, Adoration at 6 a.m., rosary pilgrimages, and Notre Dame games. May God bless your eternal soul. 'Til we meet again!

It was a privilege to have been represented by George. He was always upbeat and helpful.

We are sorry for the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we want to offer our sincere condolences. We hope the good memories you have of him will comfort you in the days ahead.

A lot of my childhood was spent with Uncle George and the Witous clan and only as an adult did I realize what a legend on the south side Uncle George truly was. He was so generous and so good to all of us, especially with his time.  His personality was uniquely energetic and everything he did was with passion!! He and my dad had a running competition with vocabulary that always cracked me up.  My favorite memory though, is when the Hession “outlaws” -Uncle George, my dad, Uncle Mike and Uncle Pat -played together.  The vacations were a blast -he took my dad fishing and golfing (something they did home and away) but it was the many hours they spent celebrating birthdays, playing jarts and pinochle at home, that I loved. It was a tradition that was not only fun, but was really an example of their family values.  George always put family first. God Bless and RIP Uncle George until we meet again. 

Who will ever forget that voice that would reverberate so uniquely through any surroundings he chose to inhabit? I will also never forget and cannot overstate how grateful I was when Attorney Uncle George secured a replacement bike for me from the railroad that destroyed the one I was riding that day in 1961. And I recall vividly, and still talk about, the day he and his then fiancee Helen took me to the Indiana dunes. I have so many memories, but I will conclude with how I always admired the true brother-like relationship he had with my father and my mother’s other sisters Marge and Virginia‘s husbands Uncles Dan & Mike. It simply underscored how loving a man Uncle George truly was. 

Thank you George Witous if not for you I would of never met the wonder Witous family. The best vacation  neighbors ever chalet on the lake rocks. ❤

Uncle George was the best. He showed me such love and patience as a young boy. A lot of my 1st experiences came via the Witous family and Uncle George: Chalet on the Lake vacations,  golf, eating duck @ Win Schulers, 4th of July fireworks, going to Sox games, meeting Joe Theismann b4 he was Joe Theismann. 
I will cherish him forever. 
LUV you Uncle George.  

I remember my Dad telling me the time Uncle George and Aunt Helen and Uncle Bill and Aunt Carole were all going to visit my Dad and Rose at their Springfield home.  They were praying the Rosary on the trip down to Springfield and they missed their turn for Springfield and were over an hour late.  Loved that about Uncle George and my Dad that they loved to pray the rosary.  ❤️🙏.  Love you Uncle George. 

Remember he loved Lake Michigan, the beach, vacation in Michigan city,  staying at a lakefront Home, 



What can I  say about a Man who was larger than life?
He is the only guy I know who wore Pastels fishing.
He always got me out of trouble with out anyone knowing.
He was a great role model, not only as a Man, but as a Catholic.
