Dear Greg, I learned only yesterday of Blacky's death. I firt met Blacky in the early 70's. He was always kind and gracious to me when I had the occasion to see him. I liked him. From one Marine to another I shall keep him in my prayers. Semper Fi!

Blacky lived life to the fullest and we will all miss his stories, adventures and the sharing of his knowledge.  I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to learn from him, not just jewelry, but his kindness, generosity and love for his family.  When Blacky talked about his children, you knew he was proud of them and his face would light up anytime one of his grandchildren walked into the room.  

Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers and may you find peace and comfort in the wonderful memories of Blacky.  He will be forever in our hearts.

Sherry, Dale, Greg and Neal my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We truly lost one of the greatest people that God ever put on this earth.
I have know Blackie since I was 7 years old, taking his turn driving us to wrestling matches. Later in life I needed guidance and he stepped up as my Father would have. I owe him everything.  We were so Blessed to have him!
Blackie you will always be missed, see you in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Blacky's passing, he is a good man, I have many great memories from Oak Lawn and the Martin Family, remember when Blacky got Yukon and Kodiak and along with Ceasar and my brother Gary, they would roam the neighborhood, until Sherry would get in the car and hurd then all together and brought them home. From the time we were young girls growing up together and many years into our adulthood, your Mom and Dad had always made me feel like family. Now, as my tears flow I share with you, your heartfelt pain for the loss of Blacky.

I will always remember him for his beautiful smile and those sparkling eyes. Blacky touched the hearts and souls of so many people and for that, he will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. I will also remember him for being such a kind, happy, well respected, and wonderful man. His love for you was the deepest love a father could have for a daughter and I know his family meant everything to him.


The three generations of my family will always have the beautiful wedding rings your Dad made for not only (the three) for me, but also Angela & Tony, and my Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary bands.

Our thoughts and prayers from our family to yours. Over the years when I was picking up for FedEx and I would stop to talk with Blacky, I left every time with a little more wisdom, a laugh and a smile. He will be missed.

My parents were very good friends with Blacky and Sherry when I was a young girl and I remember spending alot of time at their house. Blacky was always really nice to me and it was a fun household. My husband and I proudly wear wedding rings from Martin & Martin Jewelry Store.
