It is very difficult to put into a few words the feelings and emotions we have this week with the loss of Jim. He made us laugh and he made us cry and that is what made him so special. He loved Brenda, his children, grandchildren, and his entire family. For many, he gave a nickname that keeps a very memorable part of him with us for the rest of our lives. Thanks for all the good times over the years but most of all thanks for being my "Big Brother".

Jim, You left us too soon and put an emptiness in our hearts. We were blessed to have a family as close as we did and always knew the love we all share for one another. You are truly one of a kind and always looked to you for your laughs and quirky humor. As i sit hear with tears, i want to tell you how much i love you and thank you for being my brother. i am so blessed to have had a special friendship with jimmy since 8th grade. when we learned to be crazy, play sports at the white schools, working at calumet coachtogether, and much more. will never be replaced by anything. living down the street from him and his family kept us close. i remember jumping out of chris and rodneys 2nd floor window into a snow drift with jimmy. he got stuck in the snow drift...i left hime there and went and had a sandwich...a blood brother then a spritual brother now...love you jimmy...ps for a little guy, he and jack soljacich were the best pass rushers we had on the racine team...will see them both someday....amen  dave bloom

Uncle Jim you were a great man who will never be forgotten, forever missed, loved by so many and will always remain in the hearts of your friends and family. You always made me laugh and I am grateful for having known you and having you as my uncle. I love you uncle Jim and may you rest in peace.

I remember when we were kids and I got u in trouble for smoking. I told dad. You brought that up every chance you got my dear brother. We laughed about it many times though because our family likes to laugh. Jim was always funny, warm and mushy. He lived his life to the fullest and had no regrets. He loved his entire family with all his heart and made each one know they were special. We will miss him as a brother , friend, and most of all a beautiful man. I will never forget how Uncle Jimmy came over to my house to see my dad and uncles. He was always kind , loving and gracious, not to mention funny..!! He definitely knew how to talk to the young crowd. He was Mr. Cool..!! I love you and will miss you. God Bless...

Jimmy, as cousins - we were kids together, and I always, always, enjoyed time with you.  What a riot it could be spending a day with you.  We laughed, and raised a bit of hell, and you were the catalyst for all us boys.  God bless Jimmy Okon.

Mr. Jim Okon...was introduced to me, Brenda and family in 1987 by the Philgrens.  I babysat all of their children.  Mr. Okon always was such a nice man.  It was always nice to see Mr. Okon and Brenda at family parties.  Most of all, I got to see Mr. Okon at the hospital weeks before the lord sat you at his table.  At the hospital...he made me laugh as always, and updated me on his children.  You will be dearly missed and were a great person, and father.  Love, Angie Lal-Martin.
