Cousin Joe O'Connor just sent word that my dear cousin Jim died.  I always considered Jim my favorite baby cousin.  We first bonded when he spent a week up in Tomahawk , Wisconsin.  He and Pam visited us on their honeymoon and then Jim came out again for my daughter's wedding.  We have had a great many phone conversations over the years.  Jim, I shall miss our family updates that you gave me!  May you rest in peace.

So many memories...Senese's, McKeown's, Silver Lake, introducing me to Greco's, but mostly Figaro's Pizza Parlor.  How Jim loved his pizza!  And Figaro's had the best double-decker pizzas!! Thank you for your service Jim...thank  you for letting our young boys hear the siren of your squad car when they were so small.  May you Rest In Peace and hopefully they have some PBR in Heaven!

5/6/20  The photo of Jim is perfect.  As my Mother, Celeste, Jim's Aunt, always said Jimmy always had a big welcoming smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.  That photo says it all.  That is Jim to a tee, as I remember.   I don't know what Jim's "Cop Face" was like, but I suspect at certain times it was exactly that, with a big smile.  Officer Friendly, I suspect, until circumstances required otherwise.  
        You fought the good fight, Jim.  Hope to see you in the next life.

The memory of Jim that stands out the most in my mind is from a late night during tax season almost 30 years ago.  It was about two in the morning and I was alone in the office.  For those of you from Oak Lawn, my office was on the 2nd floor of the old  Sweeny News Agency Building.  The Office door was open to the hall and for some reason I looked up to see the barrel of a gun coming past the door frame.  I felt my heart stop until Jim followed the barrel into the office.  At that point he berated me for leaving the downstairs door open, which I of course didn't realize, and then sat down to talk for awhile.  I'm sure he will be missed.

My wife and I extend our condolences to Father Bill Sheridan and his extended family over their loss. I remember Father Sheridan from my days at Quigley North and as a friend of Zita Lang  from St Bonaventure who was a sort of adopted aunt for me.

Even though I only worked with Butch for a short time, It was a pleasure working with Butch! He always seemed to have a smile on his face and was such a comical guy! My condolences to all of his family!

I am sincerely sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My prayers are with the family at this time as he was still a young man. The disease is bad enough but this quarantine has got to be making everything so much harder. God bless all of you.

Butch we had some good times always enjoyed your company except when you shook my hand and squeezed until I said uncle. i also enjoyed doing the tribune crossword puzzle when we worked together. there are a lot more I could say but I take the 5th on that,until we meet again. You will be missed

My heart is breaking for all of you.  I know he left this world so very proud of his kids.   He fought the good fight, and was courageous until the end.
