Jack and I go back all the way to first grade at Holy Redeemer, Queen of Martyrs then Brother Rice. Jack was always a great guy and he'll be missed. Unfortunately I was unable to make the wake. I would love to have been there to pay my respects and meet the family.

I grew up living next door to Jack & Deloras and their son and four daughters. 
I have fond memories of those times. Jack was always into motorcycles and corvettes. He had a bike with a superman "s" on the gas tank.  When he was converting his '70 vette  to an LT 1 I used to spend time in the garage and "help" him. The 4 girls I remember we're just peanuts at the time. My parents stil live next door and I recently was visiting them and I looked out the window and saw Jack in he driveway. It must have been 30 years since I last saw him but I raced out to say hello.  Spoke with him for about a half hour and caught up as much as you can in that amount of time and it was the same old "Jack". I'm thankful that I was able to reconnect and will cherish that memory. 
Rest in peace Jack, you lived life and enjoyed it and that's what it's all about..

With the sudden passing of Jack, the time in Oak Lawn paused for a brief moment.  A great man and truly a great friend.  I am filled with sadness.  It has been awhile since I've seen Jack but it will never diminish the great times we shared.  From a round of golf to a couple of beers to just an easy conversation, our times were always filled with laughter.  To the Oleskiewicz family go my deepest sympathy.  Good bye Jack...thank you for being a true, trusted friend.

Jack and I spent many a cold winter day in his basement in E.P. playing cards. We had many a good time together.  I know he will be missed by the community.

Chris Gina and those of you in Jack's family whom I never met, my sincere comforts go out to all of you. As a (more than I should admit) regular at St. James, I can see what a loving man Jack was. It especially shined through in Chris, as his admiration and love for Jack was clearly apparent  always there, helping his Grandpa and just spending time with him like a best friend. The girls always said what a great boss he was too! I know for a fact that Jack's departure from this world impacted all of his friends at St. James, probably more than anyone will ever know. For three year (1957-1959), I don't think a day went by that Jack and I didn't do something together. It as always fun, if not always good. The memories have lasted a life time. Kerry, we are so glad we got to meet you and see Jack one last time. Our deepest sympathy to you and Jack's entire family.

As a kid I would always be at the Arena Bowling Alley on Friday nights. This was my dad's league night.  Jack was the bartender most of the time I went up to the Bowling alley.  He always had a smile on his face and even though I was a teenage age kid he treated me the same as the guy coming up to the bar to buy a round of beer.  As an adult I had the privilege of buying a few rounds at St. James place.  Affectionately nicknamed the Church by my fire academy brothers.  RIP Jack

Am grateful to have known Jack as a boss and as a friend.  
In my experience, it would be hard to find a more generous and humor filled person.  Fortunately for us, he has left a legacy of wonderfully like spirited and generous children and grand children to keep us from taking life or ourselves too seriously.  
For that we will always be grateful.

I was so sorry to hear of my dear cousin Jack's passing.  Jack was such a likable person who had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around.  My deepest condolences to the Oleskiewicz family.  It's a huge loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.  

I love that the family posted so many pictures.  What a wonderful blessing to get a peek into Jack's life with his children and grandchildren.  Even though I haven't seen Jack much in more recent years, it appears to me that any kid would have felt blessed to call him "Grandpa" which is exactly what I would have pictured.

Kerry, I am so sorry for your loss.  There are no words to describe what you must be feeling.  I liked Jack a great deal..he was always kind and funny.  Please know that my daily prayers are with you.

To those who ever had the pleasure of having Jack as a coach (Green Machine or Hilltoppers)-Playing softball for Jack was no leisurely task. You were expected to practice 3-4 times a week, attend every game unless you were in the hospital, come ready to play, hit home runs, and WIN-by a lot. On Sundays you showed up for a mandatory 3-4 hour practice in 100 degrees-knowing that water breaks had to be earned. This was not your typical team, we wore our Lucky Green Rabbit's Foot to games, we occasionally witnessed an Oleskiewicz brawl (which was basically the whole left side of the field) and before every game we gathered in Jack's van singing along to Queen's, "We Will Rock You" only to be followed up with "We Are The Champions!" We would then rush out of the van to slaughter whatever poor team had to play us that day. Not very orthodox, as we spent many hours giggling about a white/long haired man chasing us with a bat to get his point across or trying for hours upon hours to knock his drink over on the pitchers mound-but let me say those were some of the best summers of my life. He was teaching us way more than the game of Softball-Not to mention our record was like 102-2....Thanks for always making me feel like a Champion, Coach/Jack!
