

Karen was a devoted partner, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She shared a loving life with her longtime partner and soulmate, John Mikrut, who stood by her side through the many chapters of their journey together.
She was a proud and loving mother to Amy (Isidra) Martinez and Lisa Heniff, and the beloved mother of the late Jason Michael, whom she carried in her heart always.
Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Cody (Kylee) Aviance, Aaron (Jessica), Corine, Aidan, Eddie, and Delanie, who brought endless pride and happiness into her life. She was also a proud and adoring “GiGi” to Joey, a title she wore with great love.
Karen is survived by her dear brother, Bruce (Kristen) Landsinger, and was a fond and caring aunt to Kristin and Allison. She will be deeply missed by her loyal Shih Tzu companion, Zack who never left her side, as well as her extended family John (Sandy), Dawn (Chris), Jordan, Timmy, Jake, Grace, John, Zac who will cherish her memory.
Karen had a special love for gardening and found peace and joy among her flowers. More than anything, she treasured time spent with her family—sharing laughter, stories, and the simple moments that made life meaningful.
Karen’s gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation for Karen will be Friday, March 27th, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of the chapel service at 1:00 pm at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street in Oak Lawn, IL. Interment to follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th St, in Chicago, IL.
