Marcelin J. Vital was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti on June 23rd, 1939. He was the 8th of 9 children born to the late Hilfranc and Lucie Vital. Marcelin was a very private family man and devout in his Catholic faith. After completing several years as a college student, he began full-time employment at a bakery and quickly became a supervisor. During that period, Pierre-Michel became his first born. Several years afterwards, Liliane, a childhood friend, was visiting family in Haiti. She was a new resident of Chicago at the time and happened to run into Marcelin during her visit. They reconnected and developed a more serious relationship that blossomed into a marriage proposal that she gladly accepted. They became husband and wife in 1973 shortly after his arrival in Chicago. Marcelin was not one to allow complacency to set in, so the newlyweds set goals of having children and becoming familiar with what it takes to acquire and manage real estate property in their relatively new surroundings. The couple gave birth to two sons Patrick and Price. They also purchased, managed, and sold several rental properties. Marcelin made his transition on April 13, 2025. His siblings, who have previously transitioned, include Gabrielle, Solange, Maurisce, Martin, and Jean.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Liliane, his three sons, Pierre-Michel and his wife Jasmine, Patrick, and Price, his three brothers, Bernardin, Marcel, and Alphonse, his four grandchildren, Ky'Briell, Mikhel, Vivienne, and Pierce, along with numerous relatives and friends who will continue to cherish his memory and ensure his legacy lives on.
