

Marcella Volini Meyer passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago to Marcella Ringwald Volini and Dr. Italo Frederick Volini. Attended Mundelein College and Loyola Medical School. Received a Masters of Public Health from University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Meyer worked as a research assistant at Hektoen Institute in Chicago after graduating from medical school. Dr. Meyer was co-founder of The Southwest Parents Committee and worked for decades as an ardent crusader for the unborn.
Dr. Meyer was happily married to Dr. John E. Meyer for over forty five years, who preceded her in death in 1994. Dr. Marcella Meyer leaves behind her loving family of nine children, Dr. Joseph Meyer (Suzanne Berube), Marcella Meyer Horan (Kevin), Mary Ann "Nan" Meyer Annes (Nicholas), Dr. Susan Meyer Meinerz (Scott), John Meyer (Margaret O’Keefe), Gregory Albert Meyer (Leslie McCray) Peter Meyer ( Lisa Rizzolo), Barbara Meyer, and Charlotte Meyer. Dr. Meyer is survived by thirty grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dr. Meyer was preceded in death by siblings Camillo Volini, Dr. Frederick Volini, Virginia Volini Marciniak and Frank Volini. Dr. Meyer’s surviving siblings include Dr. Gloria Volini Heffernan, Yolanda Volini Hoffman, Dolores Volini Horan, Thomas Volini and Patricia Volini.
