To Patty's family..I am so sorry for your loss...I met Patty while in the academy via my uniform gym shorts...I was in the A class and she was in the C class...Someone told me "Granado a female needs to use your uniform shorts for P.E. she forgot hers"..I immediately gave it to that person so to give to Patty because we would be in big trouble if we didn't have our gym shorts..Later that day Patty herself gave me back my shorts and thanked me, ..then we ended up being assigned to the same District....She was a very humorous person always making us laugh, I loved her stories about her dad and his Catholic Faith...I requested a set of Gregorian Masses for Patty via the Miles Cristi religious order...Masses start today, Easter Sunday for 30 Consecutive Days if anyone wants to join in prayer..

My Beautiful Godmother,

I remember the first time I heard your voice. I remember the first time I felt your warm hugs. The first time I talked and laughed with you. It was amazing. I remember the conversations we had and the advice you would give me. I always promised you I would never let you down. I never thought in a million years that I would lose you so suddenly. You were truly wonderful and a gift from god that will be forever treasured. I will always remember you for the beautiful and vibrant person you are. I love you and will miss you forever and always. 

To the Walsh Family:

I am so sorry for this devastating loss of a wonderful person. She was truly a gem and an inspiration to us all. I know she loved with all her heart and will watch over us every step of the way in life. I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to her wife Laura, her sons Seamus and Liam, her family and friends and her brothers and sisters in arms. May she rest in the arms of Jesus and fly high with the angels in heaven.

So sad to hear this news.  I remember Patty from 010; such a vibrant spirit and animal lover.  She never shied away from a task or a celebration and always gave it her all.  I was happy when I heard she made detective - she had a lot to offer.  Requiem aeternam, Patty.  

I met Patty through the Fowler family.  You were always kind, capable, steady, strong, and funny.  You were an asset to your children, family, and the family of the CPD.  Your smile is beautiful.

Patty we will all miss you so much. Our hearts are broken. We will never forget our amazing adventures as we careened  around the City chasing bad guys and girls.  It was all so much more fun because you were with us.  Making us laugh and getting it done. It was an absolute pleasure to know you and an honor to work along side you.  Rest in peace friend. Late 90s, Chicago, meetings, Boys Town - music, walks, talks and coffee shops. 
Spending time with Patty’s family when her nephews Nick, Chris and Joe, were just young boys. Alabama, antiques, saving Jelly, Grover & Mikey. 
And, the last time we met for lunch in 2017. You glowed with such pride and gratitude when talking about your sons, Seamus and Liam. Your smile was as big as ever.
I am grateful to have shared some moments in time with you, Patty. Be in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with your boys and the rest of your family. 


Patty was larger than life, in everything she did.  I did not see her often, but when I did, her smile, her laugh, her joy filled the room. She will be deeply missed by so many! My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and coworkers.  I work with the police regularly and I know she was very well respected in her field. RIP. 

We met Patty at Pope John when our oldest boys were young.  What a fun time in our lives, made even more fun by Patty.  She always had a story about the south side.   We connected about my family members going to Queen of Peace or common parishes.  After we both moved on to different schools with our boys, we would run into her at basketball games and tournaments.   It was always so awesome to reconnect and catch up.  I will miss that.  I ache for her boys and family, and wish them, and Patty, peace.  Praying for all of you and sending much love.💙

As I sat across from Patty in Art class 1986. Horrified  at the final grade of a D, detective  Patty and devised a plan to add a dash. INSTANT B.  She stood watch as i I changed the grade.  After I was caught , she kindly took detention  with me. BEST SATURDAY  DETENTION EVER💚💔🤣

She's the first person I've been thinking about in the morning, and the last person at night.  I thought that quote was rather fitting.

Patty was a friend from high school and we picked back up on Facebook as so many of us have done.   Whenever I saw her, she was always happy.  She was always the center of attention, as you couldn't help but laugh and smile at the stories she told.  Don't believe me? Look at all the pictures of her, she's always right smack in the middle, with that big beautiful smile.  If we were drinking alcohol, her big splurge would be a six-pack of Diet Pepsi.   We knew she was really in "party mode" when the pop came out, hehe.  

Ah, Patty, you will forever be missed.  My prayers are with your beautiful children and to your family.

Patty was one of the first person we were drawn to at a vacation resort and instantly had a connection with. She made us laugh as we talked about life and enjoying the moment. Our thoughts are with her and her family and friends, much love ❤️ 🙏🏻

I first met Patty in Florida at a mutual friends cookout!! She had an infectious laugh!! She was a hoot!!! Always making people laugh!!! I will always remember her since of humor and laugh!! She will be greatly missed. She always made you feel welcome. I think it was her southern roots that attributed to this!!! RIP Detective Walsh 💙💙 You will never be forgotten you touched soooo many peoples lives.

It is sad and heartbreaking.. I met Patty in 010 District.. immediately I saw a loving, caring and such a smile.  I was so happy for  all her accomplishments and proud of how  she cared so much for her family. At this time I pray that she finds peace and will continue to watch over her loved ones. Rest In Peace Patty..you will be missed🙏💙

Patty was such a fun person.  I laugh so hard when I think of our high school days.  My prayers are with her family and friends.
