I found Robert's obituary quite by accident, when I was searching for someone with a last name of Trent.  When I saw an obituary for someone named Robert Trant, I clicked on it, and was utterly shocked when I saw it was "Bobby" as he was sometimes referred to.  I knew the Trant family years ago when I lived in Illinois.  I have lived in Loveland, Colorado for the past 13 years.   

I have very fond memories of going on a camping trip that involved tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin, many years ago.  I was so, so sad to see that Robert had passed at such a young age.  I remembered the Trants as a a very close family so please accept my late condolences.....I remember him as a fun person.

Bob was one of my closest friends at Loyola.  He was my greatest Backgammon rival and the one you wanted on your team for Trivial Pursuit!  Bob was an incredible friend.  Many all-nighters were spent talking about everything instead of studying for exams.  I could always call Bob and say "Guess What" and he always knew!  An amazing person!  An amazing friend! An incredible loss for family and friends!  My condolences to the entire family.

One of my first ever memories is Uncle Bobby holding me upside down in Grandma Liz's basement, singing to me and letting me dance on the ceiling. He was a fun, loving uncle and I will cherish all of the great memories and moments I shared with him.

My deepest condolences to the family. Bob was an incredibly humble and amazing colleague. It was an honour to have known him, Whilst he has left us, he leaves behind so many happy memories.

One of the nicest people you could meet and I am lucky to have had that honour you were a great colleague to work with and a valued friend.We have lost a true gentleman and will miss our chats and your loving welcome of "hello Laura my dear " Rip my friend and sleep tight . Dear Trant family you are in our thoughts and prayers.  Bob demonstrated the qualities we all hope to have, we will miss him but treasure his memories.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing away. A great heart has stopped beating and he will be missed. He was always there when you wanted to talk and tried to cheer you up. He was simple and kind. I am happy to have known and worked with him. One of the nicest souls I have ever met. You will always be missed Bob.

May you rest in peace Bob - I shall miss you - you enriched the people around you with your decency, kindness and empathy - so today I feel that we are all a little poorer. Godspeed and Godbless - you will not be forgotten. My condolences and sympathies go out to all of Bob's family and friends.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Brother Bob. When I heard of Bobs passing memories of growing on Washtenaw came back like it was just yesterday. Great memories of Bob and your family as well as the whole block. We had some of the best block parties ever. It's been so long since I've seen Bob but having those memories is something I will always cherish. It was the best block in the best parish to grow up in. For the Loving Memory of Bob my colleague, my friend and to one of the nicest person that I knew. He touched many friends all over the world, but loved Chicago the city he grew up in and eventually returned to and loved the Cubs who finally showed him a world championship before he rested in peace. Will always miss you my Friend!

Rick and I are very, very sad to hear of Bob's sudden passing.  We were in Northampton not so long ago, and had a few beers with Bob and the wonderful friends we have who are still working hard in Merry England.  We miss all of them.  May God bless Bob's family in Illinois and may he rest in peace.  Lois and Rick Cobleigh, Defiance, Missouri.

My memories of Bob are fond and plentiful. He was a master in the art of argument and would never waver in his beliefs and convictions. He would never surrender until he was certain he had convinced you. Then we would laugh about it all and start another argument. To say he was popular is an understatement, he was loved and admired by all who were fortunate to have known him well. As a friend you could have none better. He had an uncanny skill of always making people smile. I will miss him and his infectious wit and good humour.

Free at last, Peace at last. You will live long in the memory of many. Sleep well my friend.
