

Ann-Bernice (Annie) DeSantis (70) residing in Vista, passed away on May 5 after a courageous battle fighting cancer. Her mother and children were by her side. Annie was born May 15, 1941, in Bridgeport Conn. One of her first loves was ballet. She spent her high school years going to St Cyril’s Catholic school in Danville, Pa. After getting married and having three children she moved to the San Diego area in 1968. Besides her family, Annie had three loves in her life. Her little Chihuahua Cleo who she adored.
Pinocchio was next, if you have ever met her you know she has Pinocchio everywhere. And finally, the color purple which she had all over her house, office and wardrobe. Annie worked and retired from the San Diego Sheriff Dept in 2005. In the 26 years of service she worked on such things as the DARE unit. Annie treated everyone she met as family every where she went. Everyone loved her. She has so many people who call her mom. She treated all the deputies as her own and she was the mother hen for them. Anyone who came into her office couldn’t forget her pet turtle Buddy. She Finished her career in the Vista station. Annie was a huge fan of taking cruises. She was a regular on The Carnival Line. She Loved going to Italy, and was able to go on two cruises in the past few months. She is survived by her mother Ann (93), Children Danny, Debbie, and Mike. Grandchildren Chris, Morgan, Tyler, Melissa, Duane Carl and Krystal. Great Grandchildren Brysen, Summer and Jaiden.
