Carl was absolutely one of my best friends. I did EVERYTHING with that guy. He’s actually one of my biggest teachers, showing me I can stand up for myself, laugh at myself, and be proud of who I am. His friendship was the best thing ever. What I remember the most was when he moved out to his own place after staying with me for the better part of a year. I would go there every single day and stay all weekend. It was some of the best times of my life. I’m gonna remember that guy forever, and live how he’d want me to. 

When I first moved to Valley Center, Carl was one of my first friends. We shared the same passions for outdoor activities like fishing, motocross, and snowboarding. 

Carl and I would hang out after school and watch motocross movies for hours on end. We always wanted to do a team race in the desert with all of our friends. 

My favorite memories from high school were with Carl and all our friends. We had countless memories and adventures together. Some of the best times were sneaking into golf courses at night so we could fish in the ponds. Carl would always fly fish and show everyone up. Many fun times riding dirt bikes, fishing, snowboard bro trips, Taco Bell stops, I really could go on forever.

I’m going to miss you Carl. I’m going to miss your contagious sense of humor and excitement for life. Rest peacefully and I hope to see you again.

Driving me to school every morning since you had your license before anyone else bumpin all the beats... 
Riding dirt bikes all day everyday, being one of the original bros out in the desert sleeping in the back of the truck...

And just being a genuinely great human to be around,

I don’t think I have ever known someone who genuinely listens and cares and  loves more than Carl. Living with him for 2 years were some of the best laughs and memories after high school. I don’t even know where to start.  We drew all over the walls in that little shack of a house. I think waking up late after a fun night and making breakfast for every one hungover and just all the little things were the best. At our old work there were a bunch of little old ladies who all were in love with Carl, it was the cutest thing. The world needs more beautiful souls like his. My heart goes out to all your family and friends. I miss and love you so so so so so much Carl. Btw you lost the game 

Rosey cheeked Carl. He had such a great personality to him; light up any room he would be in. He was full of humor, intelligence, and kindhearted. Overall, he was a great guy. I'll always remember you teaching Luke and I how to pose and not burn our eyes from the sun while your brother took our prom photos. Trying to convince us that taco bell was the best place to eat. Glad I got to know you buddy. You are so deeply missed by everyone, but we will always remember all the memories you made with us. Take care bro, we will see you soon. 

Carl was one of the funniest kids we were lucky to have known. The dry sense of humor was hilarious. He was intelligent and kind.  Carl loved his family. He was very lucky to have a Dad who would do anything for him and he knew it.  I still picture him at the tractor show with us he must have been in 8th grade. His friend Shea and him were laughing so hard . Seems like yesterday. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Death at his age makes no sense.  One day before long you will have sweet memories that will help heal the pain you are all feeling now. Such a profound loss. R.I.P. Carl ❤️
