Carol Ann Zdybek, age 78, of Oceanside, CA, passed away peacefully on Oct, 10, 2014 at home with her husband and children by her side.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1936 in Rossford, OH to Fred and Ledora (Fredrick) Thompson. Carol married James Zdybek on October 14, 1960.
Carol was a cook at May Co. for 20 years. She worked in the deli department at the Camp Pendleton Commissary until her retirement. She was an active member in her church, San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church. She was secretary for the women’s group and was involved in various fellowship activities within her church. Her church family was very special to her. She enjoyed reading, going for walks and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Zdybek; daughter, Cheryl (Dennis) Hunter of Murrieta, CA; son, Tim Zdybek, of Longview, WA; daughter, Denise (Mark) Grice of Lawton, OK; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; Siblings, Ethel J. Lambert, Fred Thompson, Jim (Mary Ann) Thompson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Thelma Bryant.
There will be a memorial service, with a luncheon afterwards on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at 2:00pm, at San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church, 5570 Old Ranch Rd., Oceanside, CA 92057. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 at 1:00pm at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054, internment will follow.
