Cassidy Akimi Roenicke

Cassidy Akimi Roenicke, 18 of Oceanside, CA passed away on January 5, 2018 at 6:49 pm Eastern European Time, at Hygeia Hospital while on a Make A Wish trip in Athens, Greece. She lost her fight with cancer surrounded by her parents and brother.

Cassidy was born on November 8, 1999 at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA. She was a 2017, graduate of El Camino High School. Cassidy excelled in academics, as well as Dance and Chorus. She loved reading, especially Harry Potter and Vampire series books. Cassidy spent quality time with her family in the desert riding four wheelers, Lake Tahoe snow skiing, and Lake Havasu water skiing. She loved having friends over for movie nights in the backyard watching scary movies on the big screen. Cassidy aspired to be a Forensic Psychologist and had been accepted at Humboldt State to begin her studies.

Cassidy was the beloved daughter of SSgt (Retired) Brian and Tizza Roenicke. She is survived by her parents, brother Zachary (14), Paternal grandparents Calvin and Rachel (O’Brien) Roenicke (Mi), Uncle/Aunt Todd and Stacie (Roenicke) Kwaiser (MI), Maternal grandmother Grace (Alonsagay) Horii (PI), grandfather Yoshi Yuki Horii (JP), Uncles Jojo Horii (CA), Yoshi Horii (JP), as well as many cousins and dear friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Marine Memorial Chapel, Camp Pendleton, 1161 Vandegrift Blvd Oceanside, CA 92058., beginning with a viewing from 9:00 am -10:00 am, followed by Mass at 10:00 am -11:00 am. At 11:00 am a private burial at Mira Mar National Cemetery will take place for family only.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held for family and friends at Rancho Carlsbad Clubhouse, 5200 El Camino Real Carlsbad, CA 92010 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
