Cynthia Ann Greksouk

Cynthia Ann (Hornberger) Greksouk, or Cindy, as she was lovingly known, of San Diego, CA, passed away on February 25, 2025 at the age of 81. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she graduated from Lewisberg High School in 1961. In 1965 she packed up her car and hit the road for San Diego. Her favorite job was being the medical secretary for Dr. Max Hauser in La Jolla, which she did for over 30 years. She worked for San Diego Unified as a school secretary for several years before accepting an early retirement to be a full time Nana to her beloved grandson. She loved being a Girl Scout and later being a troop leader for both of her daughters. She was a familiar face on campus as an active volunteer during their time as students. She gave her Erin a home, and they gave each other a friend when they both needed one. Cindy loved her Padres, she attended games for over 45 years as a season ticket holder with her ex-husband Gary. Baseball brought her joy until her last days, although, it was the Padres, so we did our best. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Elsie Hornberger, and her brother Pete.

She is survived by her sister, Kerry Emery, her children, Katie Lynch and Krista Greksouk, her beloved Erin Murphy, her son-in-law, Jason Lynch and her grandson, Fizz Lynch. A service will be held at her home in Mira Mesa on March 29. Her ashes will be scattered in Pennsylvania this summer, when the sun is bright.
