Nécrologie de Del Kintner
Beloved husband, father, and friend, Delmar R. Kintner, 82, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Scripps Memorial Encinitas Hospital following a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Joan (Lang) Kintner; his daughters, Sherri Bennett, Allison Kintner and Brooke Kintner; his son, Scott Kintner; his brother, Lonny Kintner; his granddaughter, Christi Lynn Eide; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Lincoln Eide. Born in 1936 in River Falls, Wisconsin, he joined the Navy as a young man and later put himself through college at George Washington University, earning a Master's Degree. He later settled down in the San Diego area, where he has spent over 50 years happily working as an engineering consultant. He eventually met Joan (Penny) and they married in 1978. He was one of those few lucky people who loved what they did for a living, and he was able to spend his days working among his cherished friends and colleagues and was then able to go home every night to a wife whom he loved and a to home that brought him much pride and joy. He loved to enjoy life, most especially the simple things in life - a good martini, a good laugh, and a good football game being some of his favorites. He will be remembered always and missed most for his positive spirit, his sense of humor, and most importantly, his decency. A memorial service will be held for Del Kintner at Eternal Hills in Oceanside, CA at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2019, after which a reception celebrating his life will be held at his residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
