Dianne was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming but spent most of her childhood in Denver, Colorado. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs where she met her future husband, a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University in 1976 while working as a full time mother with three young children, and joined Wells Fargo Bank in Rancho Santa Fe. She enjoyed a twenty-five year career with Wells Fargo, managing a number of their Branches, and working as a Premier Banker serving high value Wells Fargo clients.
After retiring from Wells Fargo, Di became very active with the Assistance League of North Coast, which supports numerous programs for underprivileged children in North San Diego County. She served on the ALNC Board of Directors and was responsible for developing a number of new Assistance League programs, but her proudest achievement was the creation of their “I Love To Read” program. Elementary school students receive free books as a reward for reaching specific reading objectives established by the various schools. Over 3000 books are now distributed each year to elementary schools in Vista, Oceanside, and Carlsbad under this program.
Di was an avid fisherman, which she learned from fishing with her grandfather as a young girl in Colorado, so she and her husband decided to buy a home at Meadowcreek in New Meadows, Idaho, in 2001. In addition to fishing in the mountains of Idaho, she enjoyed golf, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and flying in the Idaho backcountry with her husband. She was also a fanatical baseball and Yankees fan, and finally realized a lifelong goal by attending a Yankees baseball game in Yankee Stadium in April 2010.
Dianne will always be remembered as a very special and incredibly warm person, and she was happiest when she was engaged in any activity that involved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was so kind, thoughtful, and generous in her relationships with other people that nearly every person she ever met became her friend for life.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis; son Eric of La Jolla, son Michael of Seattle, and daughter Kelly of San Diego; four wonderful grandchildren, Riley, Trevor, Marina, and Emilia; brothers Tim Reeves of San Francisco and Dan Reeves of Denver; sister Cindy Kent of Tucson; and a very large extended family. She is also survived by the countless friends she has made throughout her lifetime.
