

Donald Edgar Pauley passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 into the loving arms of Jesus his Savior with his family at his bedside. He was born July 3, 1926 in Bridger, MT. The oldest of five children, at 17 ½ years old he went into the Navy in 1943 and proudly served his country in World War II, and was present on the nearby ship the USS Waldron when the peace treaty was signed with Japan. After the war he came home and married his sweetheart Opal Jean Pauley on November 24, 1946. They moved to Carlsbad, CA in 1954, and they had four children and were happily married for 52 years. He worked with the retail clerks union for over 37 years and retired from Vons in 1990. He was a proud member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Oceanside. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, Grandpa and friend.
We will miss him so, but rejoice he now is with the Lord and his bride. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Jean Pauley, son James H. Pauley, son Steven K. Pauley, and baby daughter Lori Kay Pauley. He is survived by his daughter Donna Jean Cummings of Vista, CA, and grandchildren Melissa, Nickolaus, Amanda, Maggie, Andrew and David and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, noon, at Calvary Chapel of Vista, 885 East Vista Way. Friends and family are also invited to a reception immediately following at the church
