I am so sorry for your loss.  It is tough losing a parent that you were so close to.  You and your family will be in my prayers.  

I remember meeting him at your "mustering out" when we were all there in SD.  What a lovely day it was and he and your mom looked so dignified and proud of you and all that you have accomplished in service to your country.  We were so proud too.  I am so glad that they were able to be there.  It was so special to meet them.

Thanks so much for sharing with us.  I look forward to seeing you again when you might wander up here in your continued travels.

Dearest Debbie and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved father Edwin. This tribute in loving memory that you've created for him is the most beautiful, touching, and joyful that I've ever seen in my entire life. Truly it is. All the wonderful photos, captions, and video reminded me straight away of a song. I wish to share some of that song's lyrics here in hope that it will be of comfort to you and your family. Dear Beeby family, 

I am very saddened to learn the news of Spike's passing. I have a very great respect and deep affection for your dad, my Uncle Spike. He was a fine role model and certainly was kind and thoughtful to me.

One story: He took me out to dinner once in New York city which gave me a peek into Navy customs. I waited for him in the lobby of an officer's residence. When he came down the stairs, the other military personnel were slamming themselves against the walls in a spine snapping brace. And I thought,‘Gee, it's just Uncle Spike.' Well, I learned combat ribbons really mean something.

For me, he is one of those people whose loss is great, but his life is greater.

To all of the Beebys--this is a wonderful tribute to your dad & grandpa. The memorial service sounds like it will be very fitting. I'm sorry we can't be there, but we will be there in spirit. What a terrific collection of pictures. Thanks so much for putting them online. My son, John, really enjoyed seeing them, as he has cousins across the country whom he has never met, and all of you also have kids we haven't met. 

We're all so sorry about your dad, but we take comfort in knowing that he lived a long and wonderful life. He was so blessed. We will miss him. Please keep in touch--and thanks for contacting us. God bless all of you,

To the Beeby family. I am deeply sorry for the lost of your Dad or your Grandpa, Spike.  My prayers are with all of you.  Looking at your photo album, there looks like he gave you many memories of family and fun. living a life of joy and fun.  The last time I saw him, about 5 years ago, at a local event, he was just having fun with his grandson, Damon.  Blessings to all!
