Toni Forsberg, 98 years old, peacefully passed away Tuesday, 7/28/15.
Toni was born 1/24/17 in Newell, W VA to Laverne and Lee Mackey. She grew up in Akron, OH and subsequently was married to 1st Lt Lenard H Forsberg, USMC Retired, in 1946. Together they raised 2 daughters. She was predeceased by her husband in 2004 and her daughter, Gina, in 1990. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Bob & Vikki Dimattia, and by her granddaughters, Shan Skinner and Leesha Leppert, grandson, Keelan Stocks, step-grandson and his wife, Primo & Cheryl Dimattia, great grandson and his wife, Michael & Dana Simpson and great-great grandson, Carter Simpson, as well as 6 great grandchildren: Nicole, David, Christopher, Kyle, Christine and Joey.
Toni loved her family and many friends and was loved and respected by them. She was an ambassador of “age at its best”, living an active life right up to the end, and was a joy to us all. We would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided to her by the staff of Brookdale Oceanside and by Bridge Hospice. They supported and cared for her as we did. She will be greatly missed by all.
