

Born April 15, 1923, in Ironwood, Michigan, the daughter of Ivy and Herman Lassila, she was very proud of her Finnish heritage.
Eileen was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 73 years. She and her late husband, MGySgt Winfred H. Prosser USMC Ret., were also members of Pearl Harbor Survivors Chapt. No. 31, Chosin Few, Fleet Reserve Assoc., China Marines, MCRD Museum Historical Society.
She lived in Oceanside 75 years and is survived by her eight children, sons Lloyd (Vickie), Russell, Ronald and Eric (Nicole), all of Oceanside, and Michael of Henderson, Nevada, daughters, Marilyn (Michael) Ciborski of San Diego, Barbara (Mark) Farnum and Carol (Rick) Durette, both of Oceanside; also 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Julie Schlie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Prosser was preceded in death by her 2 sisters Junice, Shirley (Jack) and her brother Reynold (Julie).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday September 17th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oceanside, with Reverend Glen Shelton officiating. A luncheon reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1900 S. Nevada St, Oceanside, CA 92054.
