Gunny was born December 12, 1928, in Seymour, TX. He lived in San Marcos for 42 years. Eugene was a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Ramey and Viola Harvey, also by his wife of 46 years Florine Ramey and daughter Janet K. Hetherington.
He is survived by his grand-daughter Jennifer Westphal and her husband Jeff Westphal and their three children Marissa, Addyson and Cheyenne Westphal, Granddaughter Lisa Bentley and her three children Kaylee, Katelynn and Kristen Jones, Son-in-Law Dale Hetherington, and his sister Betty Ramey Mc Gaughey.
His services will be held Wednesday, February 24 at 2:30 for close family and friends. There will also be a celebration of his life the same day at 4 pm at the Clubhouse at 155 Las Flores Dr. San Marcos.
