

Geri was born on December 1, 1934, to Clyde and Charlsie Whaley in San Diego. She was the middle child of 3 girls. While growing up her family lived in Vista and Fallbrook. She attended Vista High School.
She met Ken Yingst as a 9th grader at Vista High School. They began dating shortly thereafter. They married on September 27th, 1952, at the old Community Church in Vista. Ken was the only guy she ever dated. They had recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.
The family was very active at their church First Baptist Vista. They had recently attended other local churches in the area.
They built their home on San Luis Rey in Vista in 1968 and have lived there ever since.
She was a loving mother to 4 girls and an excellent homemaker. She also helped Ken in the family business – Yingst Appliances in Vista for several years. She excelled in sewing, painting, knitting, quilting, and creating a great family atmosphere in their home.
Geri is survived by her husband, Kenneth Yingst, her 4 daughters – Linda (Mike) Disney, Carol (Paul) Broach, Lori (Terry) Winnett, and Cindy (Bill) Harris. She is also survived by her 2 sisters – Anita Eubank and Karen (Archie) Peterson. She has 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Geralee will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California 92054. A memorial service will occur Friday, January 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel.
Geralee will be laid to rest in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California 92054.
