Gloriann Geisert, 87, was born on September 9, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Juliana Kukman. She was the youngest daughter of six Kukman children. As a child she loved taking dancing lessons and would often help out in the store her family owned in Chicago.
When she was a teenager, Gloriann moved to California with her parents where she attended Chaffey High School where she was a song leader. She graduated in 1948 and later married and had three children: Melanie, Randalynn, and Craig.
Gloriann worked for Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, California for forty years. She started her career in the chart room at Kaiser. She loved working and took pride in whatever task she was given. Gloriann was quickly recognized by her supervisors as an efficient and hard-working employee and became promoted year after year.
Eventually, Gloriann was promoted to the position of Assistant Medical Group Administrator where she worked in an environment primarily made up of men. She held her own among them, breaking through glass ceilings and achieving great career success. She eventually retired 1996 in Solana Beach, California.
Gloriann had a passion for travel and adventure. Starting in her early 40’s she began taking special trips around the world visiting Europe, Asia, Africa, Russia, Australia, and the Middle East. Traveling was her passion and she loved to see new sights and experience the rich culture and history on her trips.
She also loved the arts and frequented the theater and ballet. Her passions trickled down to her family as she passed along her love of travel and arts to her children and even her grandchildren.
Gloriann greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a special connection with each of them. They lovingly nicknamed her “Gigi.” Whether it was spending weekends at the beach, or taking them on special trips around the world, or even babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Gigi often said that they were what brought her the most joy in her life.
Gloriann is survived by her three children, Melanie Orr of Redlands, CA, Randalynn Finizio of Carlsbad, CA, and Craig Rucker of Yucaipa, CA, and two grandchildren, Kiimberlei Tiernan, Rae Lynn Lott, as well as her five great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Mikayla, Jack, Emmersyn and Hunter. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Gloriann’s final resting place will be Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.
