I'm going to miss you Big Brother.
You're in heaven now with my Johnny and oh, I can just imagine the fishing tales you two will be sharing. I still laugh when I think about the day you were going to show us how to make a good, long cast and your line and sinker flew so far that it all wrapped around the Emerald Isle bridge.  Yes, that WAS a good long cast, for sure; however we had to cut the line, or drag the bridge home with us. I love you Brother, and will hold your memory close in my heart.  Cookie

Dear Family, I know Uncle best when he came for visits to grandma's house in Cherry Valley. He was so good to grandma and Uncle Mimi and was always willing to fix something around their house especially anything electronic. I admired him for the way he treated your mom, he always looked at her as his beautiful bride. May God bless you all.....Monika

We will always remember Harold as a very kind, loving, and compassionate man, and with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. In time of need, he reached out to us via email offering wisdom, humor, and prayers. He was a greatly respected man, loyal friend, and fellow Marine. I will never forget him, I never could tell if he was serious or if he was using that dry wit of his to tease me.
I know you will miss him more than words can say, but we know it is not forever, thank GOD. He is up there waiting for you, love never dies and it never fails, especially God's love.
You and your family have always been a shining example of what God meant a loving family to be, loving and always there for eachother. Lean on that strength.

Thank you Lord for giving me a chace to know Captain Deibert , he was a great family man and he loved his Marines and Lord he loved you .When you reach the Gates of Heaven your  marines will be there with open arms. "Hedge" was one of the experienced Marines I looked up to when I first joined Charlie 1/4 in Okinawa on Christmas Eve, 1966.  He had risen almost to the top of the enlisted ranks, and the Marine Corps thought so well of him, and his leadership abilities, that they made him an officer.  USMC Mustangs are the best.  I learned a lot from Hedge, training in Okinawa & in the Philippines, and for real in Vietnam.  He was quietly efficient, and always willing to help a newer Marine learn the ropes.  I have remembered Hedge fondly over the years.  More recently, I was honored to see him again during several of our C 1/4 reunions.  He was a devoted and proud family man, and an excellent Marine.  I won't forget him.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this difficult time.  Know that Mr. Diebert is at peace and looking down on you with much love.  I feel honored to have known him - he and each of you so touched my soul.  I will remember him with fondness.  Love to you all, your dietitian, Marty Acevedo.

Looking at the pictures of 2nd Lt. Diebert in uniform take my Dave right back to Vietnam (especially the one taken on board ship).  He remembers Hedge well since he was a member of Weapons Platoon/Rockets-Guns-Mortars of Charlie 1-4.  Please accept our condolences as we join you in saying farewell to this 'squared-away' Marine.
