Everyone he met and everyone who knew him admired his sense of humor, intelligence, and knowledge about almost anything.. He was very interested in people and was always ready for any discussion that came up with each person he encountered. Jack was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, June 08,1928, to Charles Frederick and Doris Mary Lintott, who immigrated from the United Kingdom. He was first generation Canadian, and very proud of it.
Raised in Vancouver, he went on to attend and graduate from the University of British Columbia (UBC), with a Geology/Petroleum Engineering Degree. Spent several years out in the field with the surveying team, in British Columbia and Alberta, but always thinking ahead for bigger and better things ahead. He ultimately decided that his interest was in Sales/Marketing with emphasis on Business Management. He knew, that in order to be successful in this venture, he needed to get what he called his "Union Card". He went on to the University of Western Ontario, where obviously his major changed, eventually leading to a
Harvard MBA and a PhD from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. While working toward his PhD, he was asked to teach there. After graduation, he said he didn't care where he ended up teaching, as long as the location was west of the Rockies. After offers from many Universities, he opted for University of Southern California (USC).
At USC he was Professor of Business Management - Director of The Internship/Core Program.
After retirement from USC, he was asked to be the Dean of West Coast University, in Orange County, California, After that retirement, Jack and Irene made many trips throughout United States and Canada, as well as making 35 trips to Europe. Meeting many lovely people everywhere, and many becoming dear friends. Visits to their homes and having them visit in our home became an easy norm.
Jack is predeceased by his parents, Charles F. and Doris M. Lintott, and his son, John Lintott.
Jack is survived by his love, Irene, his three children Mark (Margrit and soon to arrive, Liam), Anne, and Karen, (with his first wife, Kathleen). His grandchildren (John's) Amanda and Ashley (Daniel), (Anne's) Jake and Shea. With Irene, he inherited Step Children, Kevin (Lorraine), Stacey (Thomas), and Step Grandson, Kaleb.
He will forever be missed by all who knew him, and remain in the hearts of everyone he touched.
A Celebration of Life/Memorial will be held in his honor, the last week end in January, 2017. A date, time and place is pending and as soon as the detail are available, we will post them. In the meantime, you can contact Irene.
Our family would like to express our thanks and sincere appreciation for all the love and support so generously given.
