Carlsbad, CA.
He is survived by his brother William Bond, Jr. of Downingtown, PA, his sister Catherine Phillips
of DeLand, FL; his three children: Jordan Bond of Chicago, IL, Zachary Bond of Carlsbad, CA,
and Morgan Yoder of Chattanooga, TN; his three grandchildren Addison and Jack Bond and
Micah Yoder; and many cousins and friends.
James (Jim) was born in Chattanooga, TN to Evelyn Snapp Bond and William Joseph Bond on
April 7, 1938. As the son of a Civil Engineer he moved frequently as a child and young adult.
After graduating from South High School in Denver, CO, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves
and was active for 10 years. Jim graduated from the University of Missouri in the early 60’s
where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Following his first job writing jingles at an
advertising agency in Springfield, MO, Jim worked for Boise Cascade in Boise, ID, CRM Films
in Del Mar, CA, and his own company Best Films. In 1989 Jim joined Dean Witter and worked
for Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter until he retired in 2015 as Senior Vice President, Financial
Advisor.
Jim loved his family from his children to his grandchildren, and his siblings to his friends. He
always found a way to keep in touch and put a smile on your face with his wit and humor. Jim
always had a kind word and listening ear when needed. He was loved so very much and will
be missed by all who knew him.
A “Celebration of Life” was held at his home on Sunday, September 9. Interment of ashes will
be at a later date at the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, VA.
