

James A Brown Sr. age 86 of Bonsall, California passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2015 surrounded by his family.
James was born April 6, 1929, in Conehatta, MS to Andrew Eugene Brown and Callie McDill Brown. As a young child he helped his family run their family farm. Later he joined the Army and served two years in Korea. He returned to CA where he worked multiple different jobs before becoming an Oceanside Firefighter. Later he ventured into the trucking business with friends and family, first was B&B Trucking,“Brown Trucking” and finally ending with Brown Bulk Transportation, Inc “JBT”. James was in the trucking business for more than 50 years.
James was survived by eight children Jennifer Brown and Don Frauenberger of Oceanside, James A Brown Jr of Bonsall, Janet and David Tunney of Oceanside, Jerry and Dana Brown of Bonsall, Julie and Joe Mattos of Vista, John and Laura Brown of Valley Center, Joe Brown of Oceanside, Jeff Brown and Bill Vollbrecht of Oceanside as well as their Mother Joyce Brown of Oceanside; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 1 Brother Alvin Wallace Brown of The Dalles OR,2 Sister in Laws Helen Brown of Carthage MS, and Loretta Brown of Carlsbad; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. James was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Callie Brown and two brothers and one sister Lendon Brown, Iris Carson and Lonnie (Tiny) Brown.
Closed casket visitation for James A Brown Sr. will be held at the Eternal Hills Funeral Home on Friday May 29th from 4 – 8 pm. Graveside services, with military honors will be held at the Eternal Hills Folded Flags at 10 am on Saturday May 30th with a celebration of life to follow at the Pala Casino from 12 to 6 pm. Officiating will be James’s grandson Ryan Simpson and service as pallbearers will be his grandsons Nick and Neil Tunney, Michael and Johnathon Mattos, John and Jared Brown and Jesse Brown. Dad will be greatly missed and loved by all. The family would like to invite all who wish to join us for the celebration of life at Pala Casino.
